Washing lines

I don’t cope well with the heat. 17C and sunny is my preference, so it’s just cardigan weather. Hubby and I even had a conversation recently about how we should buy a ‘summer house’ in the north of England so we can have mild winters in the south and mild summers in the north. Yes, we’re a bit crazy.

Now that we have a garden, though, warm weather has many advantages, including the washing line. We have only lived here for one summer so far and bought our first washing line, or whirligig, last year. I was amazed. I can wash and dry clothes, towels and bedsheets in one day.

I’m sure most people are aware of this simple but magnificent thing but, having lived in a flat for 5 years and prior to that being a student, the ability to dry clothes outside of bedrooms and hallways is hugely appreciated. The only problem is my ironing pile gets bigger!
