Christmas is over

It’s funny how one day back at work can make Christmas seem like weeks ago.

We had a busy but enjoyable Christmas visiting friends and family in Cardiff, Yorkshire and Essex, although with the mild weather it didn’t feel like Christmas. We received some lovely presents including Lego for hubby (you wouldn’t think he was 26!),a curling wand for me, and tickets to see James Morrison in concert for me from hubby! I was given some running gear and beads for jewellery making which is a good push for me to go running and make more jewellery!

This Christmas I didn’t eat too much food but we did receive a lot of chocolate which we’ll be wading through for months to come. We didn’t have roast at every house we went to like normal, so I cooked roast beef for the first time on New Years Day complete with Yorkshire puddings! Yum!

One of the great things about Christmas is the TV. TV channels make an extra effort to get good films and TV programmes on for Christmas. And I appreciate it! This Christmas we enjoyed a wide selection including the classics – The Snowman, Muppet Christmas Carol – and some Christmas specials – the BBC’s Great  Expectations, Michael McIntyre’s Christmas Comedy Roadshow. And I watched You’ve Got Mail at least twice. I love that film! We also watched the Queen’s speech for I think the first time. It was short but sweet, and she explained the Christmas story and why Jesus came beautifully!

All that’s left is to take down the cards and decorations. And work our way through the mountain of chocolate.
